Open AI’s chief CTO Mira Murati declared on social media platform X that she is exiting the company to “to create time and space” and do some self-exploration.
The company’s CEO Sam Altman announced that the chief research officer Bob McGrew and another research leader Barret Zoph, also exited from the company.
Mira Murati shared a statement on X and said:
“I’m stepping away because I want to create the time and space to do my own exploration. For now, my primary focus is doing everything in my power to ensure a smooth transition, maintaining the momentum we’ve built,”
She also shares some positive views about the company and addresses the company as
“at the pinnacle of AI innovation”. She said it is hard to leave the company that she always cherishes.
Mira Murati also talked about her six-and-a-half years of work experience as an extraordinary privilege.
She also thanked CEO Sam Altman and president Greg Brockman for their support. Her statement is
“I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to build and work alongside this remarkable team. Together, we’ve pushed the boundaries of scientific understanding in our quest to improve human well-being.
While I may no longer be in the trenches with you, I will still be rooting for you all. With deep gratitude for the friendships forged, the triumphs achieved, and most importantly, the challenges overcome together,”
Altman sounded this appreciation and thanked Murati for her company service. He promised to announce the transition plan soon.
