President Donald Trump of the United States and Russian President Vladimir Putin may soon take a “significant” step toward putting an end to the grueling conflict with Ukraine, Trump said Friday. Additionally, he stated that the United States and Russia have already held “very serious” talks regarding Russia’s war in Ukraine.
‘We will do something that will be significant’
“We will be speaking, and I think will perhaps do something that’ll be significant,” Trump said in an exchange with reporters in the Oval Office, reporte Associated Press . “We want to end that war. That war would have not started if I was president.”
Donald Trump was reluctant to give further information about US-Russia talks to resolve the war in Ukraine during the press conference. He did not say if he had previously had direct conversations with Vladimir Putin.
