It’s “the result of a ransomware incident.” on a major software provider caused disruptions for several companies, including Starbucks and Morrisons, affecting Blue Yonder’s supply chain technology services.
Starbucks and Morrisons, two of the UK’s largest grocers, experienced outages affecting their warehouse management systems for fresh produce. Starbucks’ ability to manage barista schedules and track hours was disrupted, causing store leaders across North America to use manual workarounds. Morrisons and Sainsbury’s have turned to contingency plans to keep operations running.
Sainsbury’s, meanwhile, shared opinions on Tuesday.
Blue Yonder refused to reveal how many of its customers were impacted by the hack. According to the shared statements to AP, a spokesperson claimed it had notified all “relevant customers”.That continues to be shared as per requirement.
The spokesperson also maintained the recovery efforts are still underway. Blue Yonder said
“has been working diligently together with external cybersecurity firms to make progress,”
which included several defensive and forensic protocols.
Gap, Ford, and Walgreens are among the many international clients listed on Blue Yonder’s website. According to representatives for the companies, Walgreens and Gap were unaffected by the ransomware attack.
When contacted on Tuesday, Ford had no new information, but it did disclose that it was looking into whether the incident earlier this week had an impact on its operations.
