Both men are accused of making an unauthorized copy of Airports Authority documents about the jet crash on January 29, according to MWAA. FOX 5 D.C. stated that CNN was given access to the leaked video.
Authorities imprisoned Mohamed Lamine Mbengue, 21, of Rockville, Maryland, on January 31 on suspicion of computer trespass. This is a misdemeanor, according to a Fox News story. Jonathan Savoy, 45, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was arrested on the same accusation following additional investigations.
In a statement, Fox News Digital cited MWAA as saying that Mbengue was booked into the Arlington County Adult Detention Center. It happens before being released on his own recognizance, while Savoy was freed on a magistrate’s summons.
According to Arlington County General District Court court records, Mbengue’s Monday arraignment was postponed, and as of Tuesday, no new date had been established.
Authorities are still trying to identify all of the victims of the deadly collision. That claimed 67 lives and removed wreckage from the Potomac River. The cause of the incident is still being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
