Justin Trudeau’s party clarifies “confusion” after Donald Trump posted a distorted map that shows Canada as a part of the US.

On the social networking site TRUTH, US President-elect Donald Trump posted a map that depicted Canada as a part of the US. He wrote, “Oh Canada!,” alongside a photo of a warped US map.

The Liberal Party of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reacted promptly. The Liberal Party shared a graphic on X that makes a clear distinction between the regions that are “United States” and those that are “Not the United States.”

Trump has called Canada the “51st State” on numerous occasions. He declared on Tuesday that he would seize Canada via “economic force” rather than “military force.”

Trump’s remarks followed Trudeau’s announcement that he would step down as prime minister of Canada. Prior to the next election, which must take place by late October of this year, Trudeau declared that he would continue to serve as both prime minister and head of the Liberal Party until a new leader is selected.

‘Canada, 51st US State’

Trump has stated in recent weeks that Canada ought to join the US as its 51st state. Even Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s declaration that he would resign as both leader of the Liberal Party and prime minister was used by him to reaffirm his support for Canada becoming the 51st state in the US.

Trump was questioned about if he would use the military to conquer Canada during a press conference held at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. “No, economic force,” Trump retorted.

“Because Canada and the United States, that would really be something. You get rid of that artificially-drawn line and you take a look at what that looks like, and it would also be much better for national security — don’t forget, we basically protect Canada.”

Trudeau hit back over Trump’s comments and said,

“There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States. Workers and communities in both our countries benefit from being each other’s biggest trading and security partner.”

Meanwhile, Trump has not ruled out using military force to seize Greenland and the Panama Canal. “No, I can’t assure you on either of those two, but I can say this, we need them for economic security,” Trump replied.

Trump has stated time and time again since winning the election that he wants to take over Greenland and the Panama Canal. According to a CNN story, Trump for the first time on Tuesday proposed using the military to accomplish his objective.

Trump’s comments follow the announcement of the number of states on the House floor, the day after the US Congress confirmed his election victory without any members objecting.

According to The Hill, Donald Trump received 312 electoral votes, which were verified during the certification on Monday. Before Trump goes to the White House on January 20, this is the last election-related step.
